Congratulations to US Xpress on their successful participation in the recent Run on Less 17-day cross-country roadshow. US Xpress chose to outfit its trailer for the Run on Less with SmartTruck’s TopKit Aero System, as it has on all of its new 2018 fleet.
US Xpress was one of seven trucks participating in the event, achieving a cumulative average of 10.1 mpg, and exceeding the original goal of 9.0 mpg. The trucks all had some similarities – and each faced either Hurricane Irma or Harvey – but there were variations in elevations and wind speeds, as well as differences in technologies. The North American Council for Freight Efficiency, which organized Run on Less, hailed the results as “encouragement for other fleets to invest in fuel efficiency technologies which matter the most for their fleet.”
“We are very proud to support our partner, US Xpress, in their efforts to lower fuel costs and emissions from their fleet,” said John Brown, SmartTruck VP of Marketing and Sales. “We know that they chose our TopKit Aero System as a way to meet their goals and improve their bottom line.”
Why did US Xpress select SmartTruck? Hear directly from Gerry Mead, US Xpress’s Sr. Vice President, Maintenance.
